DAVID ACHIEVES MILLENIUM VOLUNTEER AWARD

Twenty-four year old David Edgar has been supported by Lead Scotland (specialists in Linking Education and Disability) to be a volunteer with Broughty Athletic Football Club since August last year. On Saturday 7 May 2011 he was rewarded for his efforts when he was presented with a Millennium Volunteer Award Certificate recognising fifty hours of volunteering at the club.

Broughty Athletic President Gordon Deuchars welcomed David into the club pavilion and thanked him for all his efforts over the season: “All clubs rely on volunteers and David has become a valued member of our committee”.

Lead Scotland worked with the Broughty Athletic committee members to support David in his volunteering role, drawing up work schedules and encouraging him to improve his work and social skills. David was delighted to receive his certificate and is already working towards the next level of the award.
